The positive control is a plasmid with a pLac promote, so we expect to see expression of the RFP gene. The negative control has no promoter for the RFP gene, so we do not expect to see expression of RFP. Our experimental treatment includes a plasmid with the ompW promoter. If ompW is a functional promoter, then we expect to see expression of the RFP gene. This graph shows that our promoter did not function as expected because it does not look statistically different than the negative control.
